Cannes Lions announces final winners

Cannes Lions has announced all the winners of the 2021 awards, whiçh were again presented virtually as Cannes Lions Live. The winners of the Special Awards for 2020/2021 and the Grand Prix for Good were among the last to be announced. The event took place last week from the 21st to the 25th of June.

The MENA region has collected Gold, Silver and Bronze across different categories. The United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Egypt collected awards in different categories. MEMAC Ogilvy, Dubai won gold with Buy With Your Time for Ikea in Direct. Leo Burnett, Beirut won gold Baklava Got Legs for #Safetyforsafekeeper in Entertainment and IMPACT BBDO, Dubai won gold with The New National Anthem Edition for An Nahar Newspaper in Brand Experience and Activation.

A total of 478 jurors from across 55 countries were involved in judging the Lions and setting the new benchmark in creative excellence. They have awarded a total of 982 Lions across 53 countries.

Special Awards were also announced with WPP winning Holding Company of the Year and FCB taking Network of the Year.

Addressing the Cannes Lions Live audience during the Awards Show, Simon Cook, Managing Director, LIONS, said, “Over the past five days we’ve seen the return of the global creative benchmark, and the winning work that sets the bar for the entire industry. We’ve seen inspirational talks, taken part in learning programmes, celebrated creative excellence through our Award Shows and Debriefs – and come together as a community, united in the belief that creativity has the power to build business, shape society, and change the world for the better.”
