Riyadh Air and Saudi Tourism Authority join forces to boost travel experiences

Riyadh Air and Saudi Tourism Authority (STA) have joined forces to leverage their strengths in marketing and advertising to promote Saudi Arabia as a premier tourist destination.

The partnership will focus on several key areas including joint marketing activities, sponsorship opportunities, key roadshows and international events, collaboration in loyalty programmes, engaging in the tourism accelerator programme and more.

The joined marketing activities include promotion of Saudi Arabia, as well as any upcoming destinations, with a coordinated strategy aimed at attracting and educating global travellers.

Riyadh Air aims to boost Saudi Arabia’s non-oil GDP by USD 20 billion, thereby generating over 200,000 new jobs both domestically and internationally, directly and indirectly.

The agreement will see both parties engage in sponsorship arrangements, allowing them to use each other’s networks and resources to collaborate with suitable partners. This collaboration will further enhance the promotion of tourism within the Kingdom.

Riyadh Air and the STA are committed to establishing a key presence at crucial industry trade shows and major international events within the travel and tourism sector.

Their joint participation will serve as a platform to exhibit their respective offerings, share new announcements, and reveal significant advancements, all while highlighting Saudi Arabia’s tourism gems to both travellers and industry professionals.

Fhad Hamidaddin, CEO at STA, said: “Increasing Saudi’s connectivity with the world is a key pillar of our tourism strategy and will ensure we sustain our rapid growth and meet our new ambitious target of 150 million visits by 2030.

“This exciting new partnership with Riyadh Air will support our goals and ensure more visitors can travel to experience the cool mountains, pristine waters and dynamic cities that make Saudi a great year-round destination.

“We are currently connected to over 180 destinations and are aiming to triple annual passenger traffic to 330 million by 2030 and this new agreement will help turbocharge these efforts.”

Tony Douglas, CEO at Riyadh Air, said: “This is another momentous day in the history of Riyadh Air. Working alongside the STA to elevate the travel experience for our guests and those coming to visit the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia signifies what we’re all about.

“We are elevating standards across the board in aviation to previously unseen levels. We have a shared commitment to travel and tourism in the Kingdom along with our forward-thinking approach to innovation, sustainability, and the satisfaction of our guests.”
