X adds a Kardashian in bid to win back users

Khloe Kardashian will create a new 26-part video podcast on the social media platform.

Social media platform X has signed Khloe Kardashian for an exclusive content deal.

Kardashian has signed an agreement with X to create a new, 26-part “video podcast” on the platform.

“This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and I can’t wait. We have a lot to talk about ???? more to come soon!” she wrote on X.

X is promoting the new show as part of its new “Originals on X” schedule of programming, which will initially be available only in the app.

“Khloé will star in and produce this refreshing new series, as one of the world’s most famous personalities blends her boundary-pushing sense of humor with her signature relatability to tackle dilemmas ranging from the everyday to the ever absurd,” X said in a post.

X has said it wants to become a “video first” platform, and is increasing its focus on video as a means to drive more engagement. It recently launched a TV app to drive more video viewership on bigger screens.

Alongside Kardashian it has enlisted Paris Hilton, Tucker Carlson and a weekly “WWE Speed” show in the app.

The plan is that celebrity-led shows will to bring a broader audience to the app, which should enable greater opportunities for all content creators.

Cannes appearance

X CEO Linda Yaccarino said: “This series demonstrates X’s commitment to empower creators to use video content as a means to enterprise every aspect of their business.

“I can’t wait for the world to tune in to her compelling conversations, and to provide her with a platform that will showcase her vision to a worldwide audience.”

At the Cannes Lions festival this week, Yaccarino said that the platform wants to do more deals in the sports space.

Elon Musk also made an appearance at Cannes Lions, in an effort to win back advertisers.
