Do epic sh*t, the boutique, virtual content-creation and production house, has once again joined forces with Timberland Middle East to develop and produce seminal content as part of the iconic footwear brand’s global #NatureNeedsHeroes movement. Produced by its sustainability arm do epic good, championing sustainable production and ethical practices, the third instalment of the story launches on Earth Day 2021 and highlights the work of four committed environmental game-changers.

  • Omar Al Jundi, founder and CEO of the revolutionary Badia Farms, the GCC’s first urban vertical farm
  • Ruby Archambault Giroux (founder) & Simona Sotirovska (co-owner) of The Botanist, a UAE based 100 per cent natural, sustainable and toxin-free home care range
  • Riva Tulpule, a 15-year-old e-waste activist and founder of WeCareDXB, who recently earned an award from Action for Nature
  • Tatiana Antonelli Abella, founder & managing director of Goumbook, a leading social enterprise promoting sustainability and green practices in the UAE

The campaign consists of a 2-minute film for each of our four real-life heroes of nature and launches across digital and social media platforms from today.  This continues a series of creative initiatives developed by do epic sh*t in collaboration with Timberland Middle East over the past two years to provide a regional narrative to support the global #NatureNeedsHeroes message.

Starting in 2019, the movement began with the #PledgeNoPlastic initiative and installation, which garnered significant public and press attention. In December 2020 the second instalment launched, a 2-minute music video titled “The Earth is our only home so let’s save it”. The video featured three regional influencers who all share a common passion for nature and protecting the environment, namely Saudi filmmaker Meshari Bin Suwaylim (@itsozx), and gamers Abdullah Almusallam (@x3booshz) and Ahmed Al Nasheet (@dvlzgame). Both projects were created in-house from concept to production by the do epic sh*t team.

Ricardo Amaral, brand activation manager, Timberland Middle East said “Timberland’s dedication to making quality products is matched by an unwavering commitment to operate in a responsible manner.   This is applicable to the products manufactured, the outdoors and communities that surround us, as well as the partners that we choose to work with, and do epic good is no exception (after all it’s all right there in the name!). The best work can only be brought to life when both parties involved are aligned and share the same core values, and this is the exact case with do epic.  We are extremely proud of the work Charney, Ramzi and the team crafted for the #NatureNeedsHeroes initiative, and hope it inspires our region to (continue to) adopt a more sustainable way of living through embracing small steps on a daily-basis that can have a real impact.”

“I’ve always been of the firm belief that if you’re going to do something, do it wholeheartedly, make a difference and make it epic” said Ramzi Moutran, founder & CCO, do epic sh*t.  “#NatureNeedsHeroes is a truly epic concept, a real game-changer, and we are so fortunate to get to work with a client like Timberland, that shares our passion for making positive change as well as our creative vision and purpose.  We look forward to a long and rewarding partnership in our collective efforts to change the world, one brief at a time” he added.

Do epic good is leading the way in being formed to work exclusively with like-minded brands that advocate for more sustainable practices, and in putting sustainability at the heart of everything that they do.  For example, the Timberland campaign was shot on a “green set”, with reusable water bottles and other materials being utilised, was a paperless production, and driven by carbon-neutral and zero-waste goals.

“Green ideas to green productions. This is THE only way forward and the future for all brands” says Charney Magri, Partner of do epic good who truly believes a sustainable future starts today.
