Tapper, the traffic quality infrastructure for Google, Meta, Tiktok, and mobile app acquisition helping performance marketers protect budgets and improve acquisition efficiency, has appointed Steven Ghoussain as Head of Data and AI.

Ghoussain joins Tapper with deep experience across fraud prevention, machine learning and large-scale data science leadership.

Over the course of his career, he has built fraud protection capabilities at Careem, served as Senior Director of Data Science at Emirates NBD, and held the role of Staff Data Scientist at Uber.

His track record spans some of the most technically demanding environments in the region and globally, with a consistent focus on using data science to solve high-stakes problems at scale.

In his new role, Ghoussain will lead Tapper’s data and AI functions, strengthening the company’s fraud detection systems, product intelligence, and decisioning capabilities as it continues to scale across the region and beyond.

His appointment comes as Tapper continues to invest in this region despite ongoing regional and global uncertainty, reinforcing the company’s commitment to building product innovation and senior technical leadership locally.

Nasser Oudjidane, Co-Founder and CEO of Tapper, said, “Steven joining Tapper is a statement of intent. We are building world-class traffic quality infrastructure from this region, and his experience across fraud, machine learning, and large-scale data systems is exactly what we need for the next stage of growth.”

Commenting on his appointment, Ghoussain said, “Fraud and invalid traffic are among the biggest unsolved problems in performance marketing. Billions of dollars in ad spend are still being wasted on clicks and impressions that have no genuine value, and most advertisers do not have the tools to see it clearly, let alone stop it. That is what drew me to Tapper.

He added, “The opportunity to build advanced data science systems that help customers protect their budgets and trust the data they are making decisions with is exactly the kind of challenge I want to be working on. I am confident in the regional opportunity and in where Tapper is heading, even against a backdrop of broader uncertainty.”

Tapper helps advertisers block invalid traffic, fake clicks, and low-quality leads in real time across platforms such as Google, Meta, mobile app, Tiktok, and affiliate . By improving traffic quality at the source, the company enables marketers to reduce CPAs, strengthen conversion signals, and make better optimisation decisions using cleaner and more reliable data.

With Ghoussain joining the leadership team, Tapper aims to further strengthen its technical foundations as it builds for long-term growth across the region.
