Kerry Platts, the executive creative director of Wunderman, has been named an international chair for this year’s Caples Awards in New York.
Her primary goal will be to drive regional awareness of the awards, which honour the best in direct and interactive marketing globally and will take place in December. This year is Platts’ second consecutive year as a Caples judge and her first as international chair. She will work closely with Peter Bidenko, Leo Burnett’s regional executive creative director, who will serve as head judge for the Middle East.
“The Caples have been a major international award programme for more than 30 years, so it’s great to see it raising its profile in the Middle East region, where it’s perhaps not been as well known in the past,” said Platts. “It’s very much a creatives’ award scheme, with the work judged purely on creative merit – concept, copy and art, the technique and craft side. And the categories it covers are very well defined, with a few new ones being introduced this year, so you’re competing on a like-for-like basis.”
All work will be evaluated for creativity in copy, art, and concept. The awards are now open for entries.
