Omnicom Media Group MENA rallies media owners to support partner charities

The initiative is a part of the company’s Covid-19 relief effort

Alanna Turpin, Sustainability Lead at Omnicom Media Group MENA

To contribute to critical relief campaigns during the COVID-19 pandemic, Omnicom Media Group MENA has joined forces with regional media owners in the Middle East to provide complimentary media space to its long-standing partner charities. With this support, Dubai Cares, Gulf for Good and Médecins Sans Frontières will be able to reach a larger audience with their call to action. Their COVID-19 campaigns are focused on education, health, and critical support for people, particularly children, in need in the region and beyond.

The response of the media community has been overwhelming. The media partner list, which keeps on growing by the day, includes Backlite Media, Digital Tree, DMS, Elevision Screens, Eye Media, Future Tech, Group Plus, Maddict, MMP Worldwide, ReachMENA and Snap Inc. All are generously extending free media space for the charitable organizations to share their message and draw support for their causes. Omnicom Media Group MENA is providing creative support as well.

Omnicom Media Group MENA has a long-standing relationship with all three non-profit organizations, supporting their drives over the years. Staff have participated in their activities and challenges, raising funds and lending a hand.  This latest initiative ensures these charities get the means to continue fulfilling their mission towards the community at a time when donations are down because of the COVID-19 crisis.

“This pandemic is like no other we’ve seen in modern times, impacting our patients, our staff, and our programs. Only together can we muster hope to get through it successfully,” said Mario Stephan, Executive Director MSF UAE. “We’re very grateful for this initiative as it will help drum further support for our patients. It’s important we never lose sight of the less fortunate than ourselves, even now.”

“Our industry has a very powerful talent that’s acutely needed right now. It’s the ability to raise awareness, rally and move people to achieve great things through collective action. In this crisis, it’s about saving people from illness and poverty, “added Alanna Turpin, Sustainability Lead at Omnicom Media Group MENA. “It’s urgent our charity partners get the resources they need to alleviate the suffering.
