Pinterest has released Pinterest Predicts, its annual trend report, which aims to provide consumers and advertisers a first look at the trends for 2026.

Powered by insights from their growing audience of 600 million monthly active users, this year’s global report highlights 21 emerging trends across home decor, fashion, beauty, travel, food and more.

“During a time when every brand is searching for that competitive edge, Pinterest Predicts has become a game-changer for advertisers – delivering early, actionable insight into emerging shifts in consumer behavior before they reach the mainstream. When marketers harness these predictive insights, they unlock the power to engage audiences with precision and authenticity,” said Kate Hamill, Pinterest’s VP of Enterprise Sales in North America.

With 91 per cent of Gen Z declaring “the mainstream” is officially over, we’re living through a fundamental shift in how people try on trends. It’s not about following the crowd anymore – it’s about taking what’s popular and turning it into something unique.

Afrohemian décor: 2026 will bring a fusion of African and bohemian styles, thanks to Boomers and Gen X. Searches for “African boho living room” and “afro chic home decor” are trending up on Pinterest, a sign that decor is going to Dakar and beyond. Expect colourful Nigerian textiles and Ethiopian wall art alongside handwoven baskets and natural fibre rugs.

Fun haus: Big top, bigger personality. In 2026, circus-inspired home decor will be on the rise thanks to Boomers and millennials. Think bold stripes, sculptural silhouettes and just a wink of clownish charm. The trick is balance: pair punch-line patterns with pared-back palettes so the space feels elevated, with a touch of camp.

NeoDeco: The Art Deco trend is getting a modern twist: shiny, sleek and tuned to 2026. After years of heavy minimalism, Gen X and Millennials are bringing this retro aesthetic back with crisp chevrons, fan arches and other geometric hits, all edged in chrome or brass. Bold, glam – and just a touch eccentric.

Fashion

Brooched: There’s a new way to wear your heart on your sleeve. Or tie. Or socks. In 2026, Boomer and millennial men will punctuate their fits with vintage pins, crystal clip-ons and heirloom brooches. It’s part homage, part reinvention. If your grandma wouldn’t wear it, is it even the vibe?

Glamoratti: The decade of decadence is back in style – and honestly, it’s about time. Tailored suits with sculpted shoulders will grow three sizes.

Funnel necks will be the base of every outfit. And jewellery? Well, that’ll get chunkier, bolder and golder. Gen Z and millennials are driving this maximalist aesthetic.

Beauty

Glitchy glam: The perfect winged liner? She doesn’t go here. This year, beauty is missing the mark – on purpose. Gen Z and Millennials will rock mismatched manicures, two-toned lipstick and bright eyeshadow in two binary hues.

So long, symmetry.

Scent stacking: It’s time to mix up your spritz. Gen Z and Millennials are ditching one-and-done scents for bespoke notes, blending oils and perfumes to craft their very own fragrance formulas. Expect luxury to linger in layers next year.

Vamp romantic: Beauty bites back with this 2026 trend. Millennials and Gen Z will go all in on an after-dark aesthetic, embracing jet black nails, romantic goth hairstyles and a smudged kohl smokey eye – all with a touch of glossy glamour. Who says you can’t be both haunting and heartbreaking?

Cross-category trends

Cool blue: Meet the shade that refuses to warm up to anyone. Gen Z and Millennials are bringing a subzero sophistication to absolutely everything in 2026 – think cool-toned coats, glacier-inspired accessories and the frostiest of cocktails. It’s the temp drop we’ve all been waiting for.

Extra celestial: In 2026, Gen Z and Millennials are going intergalactic. Think holographic home accents, opalescent eyeshadow that looks like moon dust and cosmic silhouettes straight out of a sci-fi movie. The aliens have landed – and they have fabulous taste.

Gimme gummy: In 2026, we’re going full-on gummy. Gen Z and Millennials are behind this ASMR overload – think bendy phone cases, elastic cheek tints and probiotic treats that have that spring-back bite. Expect rubberized nail art and 3D jewelry to become your new tactile obsession.

Travel

Darecations: Sitting on the beach? Snooze. In 2026, we’re traveling for the thrill of it. Gen Z and millennials will seek out full-throttle, adrenaline-inspired tourism – think river rafting through class five rapids, rappelling waterfalls on canyoneering routes or timing vacations around global sporting events. What’s a comfort zone?

Mystic outlands: Fairytale meets fever dream in 2026’s biggest travel trend. Millennials and Boomers will seek out whimsical, mystical destinations: Distant ruins swallowed by mist, naturally-occurring spirals and moody, enchanting forests. If you come back with more questions than answers – well, that’s the whole point.

Even with trends growing 4.4 times faster than they were seven years ago, Pinterest trends hold a notable 88 per cent accuracy rate over the past six years. These trends last nearly two times longer than trends elsewhere on the internet.

For example, Marriott Bonvoy harnessed Pinterest’s 2025 “Peak Travel” trend to reach high-intent travel goers with a campaign inspired by the great outdoors. The campaign successfully drove a 15 times better lift in aided brand awareness and five times better lift in message association compared to industry benchmarks.
