Visual agency and production house ‘Crater’ launches in the MENA region

The Australian production house and visual agency Crater brings its collective of creatives to Dubai, extending the company’s global reach from their headquarters in Sydney and expanding on their international offering from London and European markets.

Founded in 2016, Crater offers its clientele an ‘always-on’ approach with its multi-territorial presence leaning into one another to activate round-the-clock campaign delivery. Its’ core team in each region work in unison to tackle briefs and creative, along with production set up and execution. This sees a unique approach for its’ clients and brands wanting to produce visual content around the globe and at a fast turnaround pace, its audiences demand.

Crater ME is headed by the company’s Australian founder Simon Morehead, and British born James Hulbert, a Dubai based creative and director who brings a wealth of local knowledge to the outfit. Both are film industry veterans with decades of experience in producing long-form series across internationally acclaimed shows, as well as an abundance of short-form credits and awarded commercial work.

“Housing a collective of directors from Australia, Dubai, UK, Netherlands and more, Crater pools together their knowledge and expertise to approach every brief and campaign from a truly unique viewpoint,” says Simon Morehead.

“It’s important that our clients are exposed to more than one creative head from the get-go. We believe that a combination of many great minds makes for content that is a little different and sways away from the norm,” says James Hulbert.

Crater’s collective skillset means the company works across a plethora of media that include television commercials, documentaries, music videos, branded and interactive content.

A partnership with Bureau Béatrice – the creative technology company, known for its work in VR/AR, Immersive Worlds, OOH and the Metaverse, provides a complementary skill set that will see Crater produce forward-thinking visual content for its’ clients across multi-layered formats.

Although only officially hitting the sands in January, Crater is firing at full tilt picking up an impressive roster of agencies and brands across the region. Recent projects have seen Crater work across several high-profile campaigns for prestigious clients across the automotive, fashion, tourism and FMCG sectors.

Simon and James are also acclaimed international directors and work under ‘SOVEREIGNS’, a directing and creative duo that combines their skillsets to offer agencies and brands double the ideas, double the experience and double the execution.
