Katch International appoints Petra Boutry Spanko as regional director

Petra Boutry Spanko has been in the region for more than 11 years. She moved to Dubai from Prague, where she was born. In Europe, she worked for different media houses. Boutry’s last stint was working for the largest one in the Czech republic, Lagardere Adv., with HQ in Paris, as Director of the Lifestyle department.  She was in charge of 20 different lifestyle titles, large scale events, and started the digital transformation for some of the key titles.

When Boutry moved to Dubai, she joined the team of the regional ELLE office – Elle Arabia, first as a Marketing & Business Director, before her appointment as the Elle Arabia Brand Director. In her role, she was spearheading the full online transformation of the brand in the GCC region while launching the online platform www.ellearabia.com – which has now close to 7mil PV per month, the main expression of the brand in the Middle East.

Talking to the feminine part of the Arab audience for many years, Petra took part in bridging the differences between perception and reality, when it comes to the Arab woman. She was designated to lead an international project for Saudi Arabia under Elle HQ, to change the image of the Saudi woman worldwide. Due to the pandemic, the project was put on hold and Petra started to dedicate her time to 360-degree marketing consulting.

In addition, Fadi Tayem, creative director at Katch, has been promoted to global partner and will head up a new division in the company called Underdog. The division will specialise in Branding and Design for the Hospitality industry.

Katch is currently operating out of offices in London and Dubai, as well as a strategic partnership in Doha, and plans to expand operations by opening offices in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as other locations in Europe.

Over the last five years Katch has expanded their services from PR, social, branding and graphic design, to digital disruptive services including app building, designing websites as well as digital acquisitions. Recently, Katch launched a consultancy arm, headed by Georgie, that works towards introducing new brands into the market or refreshing brand image to expand to additional markets. The consultancy has worked on launching Neat Burger with Lewis Hamilton, which included overall brand messaging from B2C & B2B, strategy for a global approach, PR as well as digital content creation. Since then, the team has worked with over six additional food and beverage brands to launch them globally and Neat Burger has just been valued at  about $100m two years after its launch.
