Cannes: “When your work makes the shortlist, you’re over the moon”

FP7 McCann has been shortlisted for an impressive 21 Cannes Lions awards this year

“When your work makes the shortlist, you’re over the moon. There it is. Sitting alongside so much other exceptional work. Work that makes you proper, proper jealous,” said Rob Hall, Associate Creative Director and Copywriter at FP7 McCann.

“Looking at the work submitted to Cannes this year, it’s on a totally different level. There’s always an aura around Cannes. And every year it seems to outdo itself,” he told Campaign Middle East.

Here are more of his thoughts:

“Now, when FP7 McCann’s shortlists ran into double figures across multiple categories, you can imagine I was lost for words. And as a writer, that’s not ideal!

With 21 shortlists including a Titanium, Highlight Your Balls, Heinz Ketchup Insurance, Dinner After Dinner and Selfless Shelves are getting a lot of love from our peers– the hardest and most valuable love to earn.

I think I speak on behalf of the whole the team when I say, we are all so grateful and humbled by that recognition. A lot of hard work and bravery from our clients went into bringing this work to life.

This year, I’ll be watching the results come in from toasty Dubai. And if we win, I bet you’ll hear me on the Corniche – or at least through a WhatsApp voicenote!

So, fingers crossed our shortlists turn into metal. But even a single shortlist – let alone double figures – is an incredible feat in itself.”
