Mark Bachaalani, director of investments, Hearts & Science: The reason for nomination is heart. Ali embodies this key element, which he innately possesses. This has seen him thrive on a professional level with his colleagues and clients as well as on a personal level.
I was a 2011 graduate in business management from the Lebanese American University of Beirut. Then I left for Congo to operate a detergent soap factory for three years. However, I got an opportunity in working in one of the leading power supply companies in West Africa, so moved to Lagos for another two years. I had to leave the country due to the Ebola outbreak, and this is when I landed in where I now call my second home, Dubai. I never expected to be in media, but the first job role I came across was as an integrated media business developer with a local company, where I was introduced to the real corporate world. Two years later I was fortunate enough to get a Job offer in Hearts & Science. During my three-year journey with Hearts & Science, I’ve been recognised by the global and local KFC team for the efforts we have put in to surpass regional sales targets. Another achievement is being acknowledged by our group CFO for ensuring the smooth financial flow of our company.
Consistency, Transparency and eagerness to learn. With my father’s guidance and support in addition to my personal professional experience between Africa, Lebanon and currently Dubai, those were the fundamentals that kept me eager for more success.
To own a boutique hotel Chain. I’m passionate about real estate and hospitality, so Hotels are a good combination of both to achieve my dream.
Traditional trading. Part of my job role is negotiating, which is something I love to do and is something that comes within a personality. You can enhance it, but you can’t learn it. Somehow, I always have my way around the task. I come across a lot of opportunities from people I know asking for help, so I try to turn my passion and relations into profit if possible.
