Google has introduced two new updates to Gemini, aimed at making its AI ecosystem more connected and intuitive.
Bring AI memories and chat history to Gemini
Google is rolling out a simpler way for users to switch between AI tools by importing memories, context and chat history from other platforms directly into Gemini.
Launched on 27 March across the Arab world, the new memory import feature allows Gemini to quickly understand a user’s preferences, relationships and personal context. Instead of starting over from scratch, users can now quickly get the platform up to speed on what matters most to them.
To bring memories from other AI apps to Gemini, users need to head to Settings and select the new import option. They will then get a suggested prompt to copy and paste into the current AI app.
Once the other app generates a summary of the preferences, users can copy the response and paste it back into the platform. Gemini will instantly analyse the information and securely save those details to it’s context – ready to be used in the next chat.
Search Live is expanding
Google is also expanding Search Live to include all languages and locations where AI Mode is available. Users in more than 200 countries can have interactive conversations with Search in AI Mode, using both voice and camera.
This expansion is enabled by the new audio and voice model, Gemini 3.1 Flash Live, which delivers more natural and intuitive conversations. The new model is also inherently multilingual, which means that people around the world can now speak with Search in their preferred language.
Search Live also integrates with Google Lens. By tapping the ‘Live’ option while using the camera, users can hold real-time, back-and-forth conversations about what they see — bringing AI assistance directly into the physical world.
