Guilherme Rangel, Y&R’s regional creative director, is to quit the agency in order to head up Horizon Draftfcb’s Dubai and Lower Gulf teams.
Rangel, who has 19 years of experience in the industry, will join the agency in February as senior creative director. Neither of the Dubai-based agencies would comment on the appointment, which follows the departure of Horizon Draftfcb’s creative director, Michael Koeditz, last summer.
In July Horizon Draftfcb named Alain Hochar as its very first regional creative director. Hochar, who was creative director of the agency’s Beirut office until his promotion, has been tasked with elevating the ad shop’s product quality and embracing the ‘6.5 Seconds That Matter’ mantra, which is Draftfcb’s litmus test for generating great work globally.
Horizon Draftfcb is part of Horizon Holdings, which also includes media agency Brand Connection, and PR outfit GolinHarris.
