StrawberryFrog wins Downtown Dubai brief

StrawberryFrog has won the global creative account for Emaar Properties’ Downtown Dubai following a competitive pitch against Saatchi & Saatchi and Y&R.

The appointment comes less than two months after the Amsterdam office of StrawberryFrog won the global Emirates Airline account.

Robert Booth, chief executive officer of Emaar North America, who oversaw the appointment, said: “StrawberryFrog demonstrated an incredible understanding of the exciting new world that is taking shape today, the ways in which consumers think in this new global environment, and the role that Downtown Dubai plays in this culture. StrawberryFrog’s strategic insights, original ideas and creative excellence were outstanding. StrawberryFrog New York and Amsterdam have a cosmopolitan team which has great chemistry with our organization.”

The $20 billion Downtown Dubai is the world’s newest urban development. Described as the ‘new heart of Dubai,’ this 500-acre development is anchored by Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, and also features The Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping and entertainment destination.

  • an interesting new trend…it seems the accounts go after the talents who left the country.

  • Interesting indeed. Also it’s refreshing so see that they believe terrific insights can come from a non-arab based, or populated agency somewhere else on this planet outside of the UAE. Perhaps times they are a changing. Simple truth is that good advertising is good advertising.

  • Honestly, I don’t know of any Emiratis working in advertising. In essence, it’s all foreign work.

  • Well lets see the advertising first. Remember Fallon’s Abu Dhabi commercial bank launch “long live ambition” campaign?
The new TVC is pretty cool though.
