STARZPLAY, a leading subscription video on demand (SVOD) service in the MENA region, has been ranked MENA’s most positively spoken about streaming service, according to the MENA Streaming Services Flash Report 2025 by DataEQ.

The report, which analysed more than 109,000 public conversations across 17 countries in the region, found that STARZPLAY achieved the highest Net Sentiment score of more than 22 per cent, outperforming major global and regional streaming platforms.

The independent analysis measured consumer perceptions of streaming platforms across key areas such as content quality, platform reliability, marketing campaigns, sports coverage and payment experience.

Across these areas, STARZPLAY distinguished itself as the top performer in customer satisfaction. As a proudly homegrown MENA brand, STARZPLAY’s success stems from its deep understanding of regional tastes and viewing habits.

The platform has consistently invested in content, technology, and customer experience innovations that resonate with local audiences while matching international quality standards.

“This recognition is a testament to our continued focus on delivering value to our subscribers through world-class streaming quality, culturally relevant entertainment, and an easy to navigate user experience,” said Maaz Sheikh, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder at STARZPLAY.

“As a homegrown brand built for regional audiences, we take pride in offering stories, sports, and experiences that truly reflect the region’s diversity and aspirations,” Sheikh added.

A reflection of regional leadership

Viewers particularly praised STARZPLAY for its diverse international catalogue, Arabic originals, and reliable live-streaming performance, especially during major sports events.

The report also noted that local and Turkish dramas were key drivers of positive engagement across MENA, underscoring audiences’ appetite for culturally resonant content.

Reflecting this trend, STARZPLAY’s curated slate of Arabic originals, Turkish dramas, and pan-regional productions continues to set it apart in content relevance and cultural authenticity.

Recent investments in AI-driven personalisation, advanced content discovery tools, and enhanced user experience design further reinforce the brand’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction.

STARZPLAY’s leadership in streaming key sports properties such as the UFC, Serie A, and ICC Cricket, delivered reliably, has also become a defining differentiator for the platform, particularly in a region where live-streaming quality remains a major determinant of audience sentiment.

With a strong footprint across 20 countries, STARZPLAY continues to expand its offering through exclusive sports rights, Arabic originals, and global partnerships.

The platform’s consistent reliability and audience trust highlight its growing influence in one of the world’s fastest-growing streaming markets.
