Riot Games puts women at the top in esports

Electriclime° and Riot Games put female players at the forefront with ‘Game Changers’ film

Electriclime° and Riot Games collaborated to celebrate female empowerment through a new Valorant  ‘Game Changers’ film. The film aimed to capture the real essence of what it is to become and be a top female player in the esports world.

The documentary-style film follows Jinny, who is attempting to change the mindset of esports and prove she can compete at the very top of the competition. The Thai player wanted to prove that there is no difference between men and women in the sport by taking her team all the way to the Valorant Game Changers Championship Tournament.

The style of the project combines run and gun documentary filmmaking with thought-out cinematic profiles, with the intention behind it to capture the sincere emotions and stories of the lead character.

However, the piece also deviates just enough away from a pure documentary style, so that elements of visual ambiguity and texture could shine through.

The film was directed by up-and-coming filmmaker Daniel Marjan and shot in Berlin.
