Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, has launched the new website of the Emirates News Agency (WAM), www.wam.ae.

The launch of the website took place during the second edition of the Global Media Congress (GMC) exhibition and conference.

The new agency has adopted AI technologies and smart services in its new website.

The new services include an AI-powered interactive search feature, WAM’s new podcast and robot-presented visual bulletin.

Ahmed Hassan Al Hammadi, Acting Executive Director of the Supporting Services Sector and Director of the Information Technology Department, said that AI is the most prominent and important feature in the new WAM website and its diverse services.

He added that WAM is keen to be at the forefront of “smart websites” globally.

He said that the goal is to continue to confirm the permanent impression of WAM’s comprehensive and reliable services and to make it easier and faster to access information.

The agency is also working to update and organise the website’s content in global search engines.

The website has also updated its design to reflect the “institutional identity of WAM”, according to Al Hammadi.

He also added that the consistency and harmony of the colours and icons of the website are in accordance with the standards of the agency’s visual identity.

He added that WAM has been keen to provide smart technologies and innovate proactive pathways and solutions to enhance journalistic and news work within the framework of its strategic plan, through the integration of the latest technologies in services, including AI, big data, and cloud computing.

This is all part of improving the quality of digital life in accordance with the directives of the UAE wise leadership.
