The Dentsu Aegis Network is seeking to drive expansion of the group in North Africa and the Levant.
As part of its bid to strengthen its presence in both regions, the network has appointed a new chief operating officer, who has been charged with expanding the geographical reach of the network by consolidating existing partnerships, acquiring new agencies and driving organic growth through local account wins.
Antonio Chedrawy, previously the network’s chief financial officer, takes on the role of COO with a remit to focus on the strategic direction of the North Africa and Levant operation, as well as the continued management of the regional trading division. The expansion drive follows the recent merger of Dentsu and Aegis Media.
Michael Nederlof, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network MENA, said: “In line with the requirements of our clients, North Africa and Levant is swiftly becoming our fastest growing sub-region.
“The need for strong governance and structure in NAL was clear, accordingly we have appointed a leader with a profound ability to improve corporate efficiency and generate effectiveness for our business. Through his experience and impeccable standing in the industry, Antonio will help the network expand further into these developing economies and drive growth for the agency.”
Chedrawy added: “As a result of recognising our clients’ needs and our own ambitions, the NAL region represents an exciting next chapter for the Dentsu Aegis Network MENA operation. My recent promotion is reflective of our ambition to lead in the region and I am proud to have been given the opportunity to help achieve this objective. My own objective is to standardise and strengthen our recognised holistic services across the locality and tap into the potential of the sub region. By giving the required time and attention to our talent, clients and media partnerships we can achieve continued growth.”
