Behind the scenes of Etihad’s daring cabin crew stunt

Etihad has released the behind–the–scenes footage of its recent viral campaign, which saw the airline’s ‘cabin crew’ jump off a plane while playing instruments.

The video went viral gaining over 1.2 million views on Etihad’s YouTube channel and was covered by local media outlets.

Conceptualised by the agency Impact BBDO, the video was created in theme of Mission Impossible. The film was the final film in a series of films that showed Etihad’s cabin crew accomplishing the impossible.

The short ad films included missions such as being reliably punctual, big smiles and being excessively attentive and more.

Etihad partnered with Paramount Pictures to become its official airline partner for the film, Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part One.

The partnership to promote the latest addition to Mission Impossible franchise allowed the film’s production to shoot film scenes across Midfield Terminal, Abu Dhabi’s upcoming new flagship airport terminal and Etihad’s future home.

Behind the scenes

The behind-the-scenes videos revealed the answers to a lot of questions such as if it was really the cabin crew or stunt professionals as well as if they were really playing the instruments up in the air.

The video also reveals the entire process and the people involved in the entire production of the video, from the creative, the production and the shoot.

Daring to do the impossible

This is not the first time an airline video featuring an ‘unbelievable’ stunt has gone viral.

In 2021,  Emirates’s ad ‘We’re on top of the world’ went viral. In the ad, an Emirates cabin crew member was seen standing, in uniform, on the top of the Burj Khalifa.

Shot at 828 metres above ground on the tallest building in the world, the ad film was one of the highest ads ever filmed, according to Emirates. The film also showcased a stuntwoman who took up the daring task of standing on the peak of Burj Khalifa.
