Equiti Group‘s FXPesa, a CMA-licensed broker, has revealed its official partnership with Nairobi City Thunder (NCT) as the Official Trading Partner for the 2026 season.

This collaboration places the leading online broker at the centre of one of the Kenya’s rising and most exciting basketball franchises.

Colin Rasmussen, Founder and CEO of Nairobi City Thunder, said, “This partnership with FXPesa is an exciting step for Nairobi City Thunder as we continue building a brand that connects performance, ambition and community. Basketball requires discipline, preparation, timing and the ability to make the right decisions under pressure – all principles that align well with FXPesa.”

Rasmussen added, “For us, this partnership is about joining forces with a brand that understands the mindset of excellence and the importance of creating value beyond the court – in Kenya and globally.”

Both FXPesa and Nairobi City Thunder share a common approach to performance. Across both basketball and trading, success is built on preparation, reading the moment and making smart decisions.

This shared mindset forms the foundation of the partnership and will shape how both organisations engage with fans and communities throughout the season.

“The partnership with Nairobi City Thunder is a natural fit for us,” said Moonika Jurgenfeldt, Managing Director of FXPesa. “At their core, both trading and basketball are about discipline, timing and performing under pressure – qualities that define success in any competitive environment.”

Jurgenfeldt added, “We see this as more than a sponsorship; it’s an opportunity to connect with a new generation, support a fast-growing sport in Kenya and reinforce a mindset we believe in: that consistent, well-informed decisions, whether on the court or in the markets, are what drive long-term success.”

Nairobi City Thunder has quickly established itself as a dominant force in the sport, becoming the first Kenyan team to qualify for the Basketball Africa League (BAL) and remaining undefeated across the 2023–2024 and 2024–2025 Kenyan Basketball League seasons. Its rise reflects a clear focus on performance, consistency and ambition.
