Spotify has announced that Egyptian radio network NogoumFM will now host its content on Megaphone, Spotify’s enterprise podcast platform.

NogoumFM, part of  Nile Radio Productions (NRP), has added more than 70 shows to Spotify in the form of podcasts.

Launched in 2003, NogoumFM quickly rose to prominence as Egypt’s most popular Arabic radio station, known for its modern approach and youthful content.

With the partnership, Spotify is bringing NogoumFM’s popular social chat shows to a global audience of over 615 million listeners.

Shows like Etafa’ana, El Tawlifa, and Kefaya Keda, which feature trending issues, expert perspectives, and personal experiences, can now be enjoyed anytime, anywhere, across any device integrated with Spotify.

Spotify’s Megaphone is a ‘broadcast to podcast” tool, which seamlessly converts radio content into on-demand podcasts.

Through this tool, broadcasters are enabled to not only expand their audience but also enhance the listeners’ experience, granting loyal fans access to their favourite content.

Podcast streaming in Egypt skyrocketing by over 100 per cent year-on-year

Rhea Chedid, Editorial Lead for the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia at Spotify, said: ” Our introduction of the broadcast-to-podcast tool aims to bridge the gap between broadcast publishers and Gen-Z audiences, meeting their preference for digital content consumption.”

“At NogoumFM, we pride ourselves on producing content that resonates with the diverse tapestry of Egyptian culture.

“Through our partnership with Spotify, we are thrilled to enhance accessibility to our rich content, making it easier to access our show anytime and anywhere,” said Hala Hegazi, Managing Director and Group COO at Nile Radio Productions.
