Snap Inc. today has expanded the leadership remit of Hussein Freijeh to include the Asia-Pacific region, in the role of Vice President for both APAC and MENA.

Freijeh will now lead Snap’s strategy and operations across the two regions. Having successfully launched and scaled Snap’s presence in the Middle East as VP for MENA, Freijeh brings a proven record of driving growth in diverse and dynamic markets, building high-performing teams, and navigating complex business environments.

Commenting on the appointment, Ajit Mohan, Chief Business Officer, Snap Inc., said, “Bringing MENA and APAC under a single leadership structure is a strategic step for our next phase of growth.”

Mohan added, “Hussein’s deep experience navigating complex, fast-evolving markets – combined with his long and successful tenure at Snap – makes him uniquely positioned to lead both regions. I am confident in his ability to drive new dynamism in the two regions and help bring the best of Snap to our clients and partners.”

APAC continues to be a growth engine for Snap with a community of more than 250 million monthly users in India alone, a thriving export business in China and depth of penetration in Australia and New Zealand.

“It’s a privilege to take on this expanded role at such a pivotal moment for Snap,” said Freijeh. “MENA and APAC are two of the most dynamic, creative, and fast-moving regions in the world. I’m excited to work even more closely with our teams and partners to accelerate growth, deepen our investment in local communities, and continue building products and experiences that reflect the needs and ambitions of our audiences across both regions.”

With large communities across South-East Asia and ever-growing engagement with export advertisers across the region, APAC continues to be a critical part of Snap’s international growth plans.

Earlier this year, Snap Inc. expanded its footprint in the MENA region, opening its new office in Qatar, specifically in Doha’s Msheireb district, in the presence of Founder and Chief Executive Officer Evan Spiegel and Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani, Director of the Government Communications Office (GCO).

Following the announcement, Snap Inc. revealed an immersive augmented reality (AR) activation in partnership with Qatar Museums (QM) as part of its broader ‘Evolution Nation’ campaign. These activations brought Qatar’s rich cultural heritage and contemporary identity to life through innovative digital storytelling.
