New communications agency Tales & Heads has been appointed by Euronews, a European international news media company, to handle corporate and consumer communications in the Middle East and the UK, following a competitive pitch.
The media company – which reaches 145 million people every month and is available in over homes in 160 countries, including two-thirds of homes across Europe – has appointed the agency as part of an integrated marketing campaign set to launch later this month in the UK, and the expansion of its digital feature-led content which complements its rolling news, broadcast in 12 language editions.
Carolyn Gibson, chief revenue officer at Euronews, said: “Euronews is increasing its digital content output, responding to existing audiences’ desire to see more in-depth and specialised content, as well as attracting new audiences in Europe and globally. With the launch of these new content streams – and with this agency appointment – we have put a particular emphasis on strategic communications designed to increase our reach with audiences in the UK, and on strengthening and growing our partnerships in the Middle East. Tales & Heads’ thinking resonated with our own, and the team’s knowledge of both the UK and Middle East markets allows us to partner effectively in both geographies to help achieve these objectives.”
Co-founders of Tales & Heads, Margaret Flanagan and Lisa King, will be leading the account across the designated markets.
Flanagan said: “Partnering with Euronews in both the Middle East and the UK gives us the opportunity to leverage our strategic market insight and creative network to build wider awareness of this innovative brand with consumer and commercial audiences. With its fresh approach to cross-platform quality content and a wholly integrated approach to marketing and communications, we are excited to help Euronews tell its story through content-led campaigns across both earned and paid media.”
Carolyn Gibson added: “As Europe’s leading international news media, Euronews and our ‘All Views’ positioning means we are committed to empowering people to form their own opinion and reflect a diversity of viewpoints. This commitment has weight and resonance in an increasingly polarised media landscape. At Euronews, our impartiality, our multi-cultural principles and high standards of journalism create a place for intelligent, forward-thinking audiences and for partners who want to engage deeply with those audiences in a brand-safe environment.”
