Over the course of my 10 years within the Digital landscape, I have met very few people with a proper understanding of what performance marketing is, the same way Islam Raslan has. His knowledge across the digital ecosystem is second to none, from the deepest technical know-how within every system he has worked in, to truly correlating media strategies based on client brand and business KPIs.

It is not only about his wealth of knowledge, yet more importantly about his hunger to constantly grow it, and the endless support he gave everyone.

At OMD we had an internal saying based on a local Google campaign, and that was “Ask Islam”.

Bio

I’ve been working since I was 20, I started my own e-commerce startup in 2011, in 2014 while finishing my Mechatronics degree, I followed my passion in the digital landscape. I started from scratch as a social media then SMM, SEM, SEO, Specialist, and Digital media strategist then ended up in a digital performance career. I worked across +35 different industries (Ex: Travel, Banking, Automotive, Real Estate, Retail, FMCG, Medical .. etc).

My greatest personal professional achievement was winning the “best employee of the month” 3 consecutive times, in addition to the “sustained performer employee” award at OMD Egypt.

Guiding principles

I’m a big believer that you will earn at the end what you deserve according to your hard work, no matter how talented, knowledgeable, and intelligent you are, Try always to go the extra mile.

How has Covid changed your job?

Despite the bad effects of pandemic across many industries, it was the main trigger to change clients’ mentality towards digital transformation, and here comes our role in teaching the clients all the digital insights and trends that have been changed during the pandemic and how to exploit to our advantage.
