The local sports stream provider, CamPlus Sports has been a success story in the nation as it successfully streamed a total of 500 games during the 2021/2022 season. The platform has benefited since its launch as CamPlus Sports can be watched from anywhere live, or later on-demand with their unique App availability.
CamPlus Sports will be attributed to Smashi TV, the Augustus Media-owned business tech and live
streaming service in the Middle East. The content will be incorporated into Smasih’s OTT
programming, under the Smashi Sports brand. Smashi Sports will build on its business of sport
content by entering the live sports space by rebranding Cam Plus sports.
As part of this acquisition, Augustus will have content rights and the technology to bring live sports to Smashi TV. The best of local sporting competitions will be available for streaming on the platform being a wonderful addition to the large content catalogue. Smashi Sports will showcase the best talent from the Arab world.
With the acquisition, Augustus Media gained broadcasting rights from the UAE Federations for
Volleyball, Handball, and Futsal. In addition to the live sports, ownership of sixteen AI cameras from
Pixellot and their AI software that allows remote broadcasting.
