Havas Media Middle East has announced its win of the LG Electronics media account. As part of a three-year deal, the media agency will be responsible for looking after the tech giant’s digital presence in the region.
The duties will be carried out by Havas Media’s Dubai, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon Offices. The Dubai hub will look after the overall GCC and Levant, along with the countries: Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, South Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, Turkey, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia.
The Saudi Arabia and Lebanon offices will offer additional on-ground support throughout their regions as well.
On their account win, Havas Media Middle East’s CEO Houda Tohme said, “This is not the first time Havas Media has worked with LG Electronics; the agency handled the account globally from 2013 until 2019.”
Tohme adds, “LG’s decision to return to Havas Media Middle East is a testament to our exceptional ability to establish and cultivate meaningful and trustworthy partnerships with our clients.”
Havas Media held the global account for the electronics brand outside of the US from the year 2013 onwards.
In a statement to Campaign UK, Havas had said that while the relationship was “a long and fruitful one” and one that Havas Media “placed high value in”, they had made a “strategic decision” to not participate in the pitch. The global media account was then awarded to Omnicom Media Group’s PHD Media.
The LG Electronic win adds to Havas Middle East’s latest portfolio of wins including its re-appointment as the British Council’s media agency early this month and its win of Virgin Mobile UAE’s creative and public relations business in April.
