Twitter has announced the appointment of two key regional roles, bolstering its leadership team and underscoring the platform’s commitment to the region. The company welcomed Jacqueline Jain, a communications expert with over 12 years experience in strategic communications, as head of communications, MENA, while Saleh Bdeir has been promoted to head of revenue, telecommunication, tourism and finance, MENA.

Commenting on the appointments, Antoine Caironi, interim regional director, Twitter, MENA, said, “Joining us from our trusted agency partner of eight years, Jacqueline brings an intimate knowledge of Twitter and its communications, as well as a wealth of insights and expertise that will be instrumental in driving creativity and impact for Twitter in MENA. In parallel, I’m delighted to see Saleh rise the ranks from within. Over the past four years, his knowledge, commitment and expertise has been invaluable to Twitter’s growth in the region. I look forward to leading Twitter’s journey in MENA with our ever growing cross functional team, as we drive our business forward and serve the public conversation”.

Jain joins Twitter from Hill+Knowlton Strategies, where she led the development of robust communication strategies across flagship client accounts and specialized in crisis and reputation management. She has spearheaded award-winning creative campaigns, including Twitter’s #Feminine Arabic, #HeroesOfGood, #AlwaysPlayItRight and Safety Campaign which were recognized at the 2020/21 Middle East Public Relations Association Awards.

Of her appointment, Jacqueline Jain said, “Twitter is home to diverse voices, perspectives and ideas serving as the pulse of the public opinion. Joining an inclusive environment presents an exciting opportunity to celebrate Twitter’s raw, unfiltered, and, above all, transparent approach to communications that has secured its regional position as the place to foster meaningful dialogue that transcends borders. As Head of Communications, I hope to educate our stakeholders on the power of the platform, whether that’s introducing users to Twitter’s robust privacy and protection policies or empowering partners and brands with a plethora of tools to build brand resonance with their audiences.”

Bdeir, who joined Twitter in 2019, has played a key role in driving Twitter’s operations in the region, brings with him over 16 years of experience in business development and relationship management. In his role, he will continue growing the company’s presence and capabilities, leading the multi-sector sales team based in Dubai.

Of his promotion, Saleh Bdeir said, “This is an exciting time to be at Twitter, and I am honored to be taking on the role of head of revenue, telecommunication, tourism and finance for the MENA region. In a world where the need to build a digital presence continues to grow, I look forward to continuing our work, building lasting relationships and driving productive change across our network of partners and advertisers.”
