The One Club For Creativity selected TikTok creative strategy lead, and Campaign’s Creative Faces to Watch 2020, Sarah Guessoum as a winner of Next Creative Leaders 2022 for Middle East and North Africa.
Held in collaboration with 3% Movement, Next Creative Leaders is a portfolio competition that aims to identify, celebrate, and give a global platform to talented women creatives who are making their mark on the world with both their work and a unique point of view on creative leadership.
3% Movement is an initiative highlighting the lack of female creative leadership in advertising and its impact on on connecting with the female audiences, while aiming towards improving the percentages of women in creative directors roles.
The Next Creative Leaders 2022 had a total of 25 winners across different regions from Middle East and Africa, APAC, Europe, Latin America and North America. Find the complete list of winners here.
Guessoum was chosen for her portfolio of work and accomplishments, which includes The Zero Straw for Clemenceau Medical Center Beirut, The First Arabic Countdown for The UAE Government Media Office, Time for Renewal for Louvre Abu Dhabi, Iftar of Lights for Betty Crocker, Mama Fine for Fine Guard and The No-Promo Promotion for Kinokuniya.
In her interview with The One Club on her participation in the competition, Guessoum said, “As one of the few senior female creatives working in the industry in the region, I have faced many struggles throughout my career. This made me a stronger advocate of initiatives like this, that inspires and empowers other young female creatives.”
Guessoum started her career at J. Walter Thompson and since then has worked with several agencies including TBWA, VMLYR , Saatchi and Saatchi, before moving to her current role as the creative strategy lead for Saudi Arabia and North Africa. She was also shortlisted for Cannes Lions’ See it Be It programme for 2021.
