OMD has held onto its $58 million media account with skincare giant Beiersdorf.
The Omnicom Media Group-owned media agency pitched against MEC, which runs a number of Beiersdorf’s European accounts, to retain the integrated media strategy for the Middle East and North Africa.
Beiersdorf’s brands include Nivea, La Prairie and Labello. Bhavna Mishra, the multi- national company’s MENA marketing director, said: “Beiersdorf is committed to regularly review and bench- mark its processes to ensure highest levels of operational excellence and efficiency. “After a careful review pro- cess we have decided to extend and renew our partnership with OMD for the MENA business. OMD’s expertise and partnership continues to help us touch the lives of our consumers in MENA while delivering out- standing value. We are thankful to our global network media partners OMD and MEC for their commitment and perseverance in the review process these past few months”.
Elie Khouri, chief executive officer of Omnicom Media Group MENA, added: “The result of this review is a vali- dation of our team’s focus on all-round excellence and we certainly look forward to col- lectively aiming even higher in the coming years.”
MEC operates Beiersdorf’s account in a number of its European markets.
