Tribe Global has appointed David Balfour, co-founder of creative experience agency, LIGHTBLUE as its new chair.
David is based in Dubai and succeeds Todd Bolin, President of Bolin in Minneapolis who became chair in 2019.
As chair, David will continue the work already undertaken to make Tribe Global the number one independent agency network. He will also support Tribe’s growth strategy and the many initiatives planned for this year.
David said “Tribe Global is a great network, full of great people, and I’m honoured to be given the opportunity to help shape its future. I want Tribe Global to be the leader in our industry and be the first choice for independent agencies and innovative business partners. My focus will be on achieving this for the benefit of all of our members and partners along with our fantastic board members.”
David continued “We will look at all our strategic opportunities, and at pace. I have been part of Tribe Global for 5 years and have a good understanding of where our strengths lie and what actions we should be taking. Our culture is strong and getting better, but like all businesses, we have our challenges as we move into 2021. Board culture provides the foundation for our governance and the way we behave. Our focus is on listening to the Tribe and then delivering real value to our members and partners. We demonstrated this during Covid with a lot of knowledge sharing and business support, as well as a series of webinars that delivered ideas and inspiration to our members, partners and clients.”
Todd Bolin has stepped down from his role as chair but will remain on the board to support other activities and initiatives.
Speaking of the new appointment, Todd said “for me, these trying times have really highlighted the value of membership of Tribe Global. While many of our member agencies continue to experience the disruptive effects of the pandemic, it’s been wonderful to see the collaborative spirit and support that members have given each other throughout this past year. I couldn’t be more proud to be a member of Tribe and confident in handing over the reins to a most capable successor in David.”
