Starting April 15, Google is making Veo 2, an AI-powered video creation platform, available to Gemini Advanced users. Veo 2 is a video generation model that produces high-resolution, realistic videos.
It allows users to generate and share videos on both web and mobile platforms. Originally launched last year, the video model is now being integrated into Gemini in multiple languages, including Arabic and English, and can also be accessed in the Middle East.
Najeeb Jarrar, Regional Director of Marketing, Google MENA said, Jarrar adds, “Marketers can use this feature to experiment with content that amplifies their brands, whether on social or through ads. Content creators can also use this feature to record a specific scene, that can be then added to a bigger project of theirs.”
The feature is integrated within Gemini’s mobile or web experience. It allows people to translate text-based prompts into eight-second video clips at 720 pixel resolution, delivered as an MP4 file in a 16:9 landscape format.
All videos generated are marked with SynthID, a digital watermark embedded in each frame, which indicates the videos are AI-generated.
Jarrar added, “People can use this feature to explain an idea, tell a story or record a specific scene.”
When asked about the differences between Veo 1 and Veo 2, Jarrar explained that Veo 2 features native 4K output, while Veo 1 relied on upscaling.
He also highlighted improvements in the underlying physics engine, which contribute to more realistic videos, and noted that Veo 2 can generate longer video outputs compared to its predecessor.
The rollout reflects a broader shift in the region toward integrating generative video tools that include different languages and can be expanded across the MENA region.
