Euronews is reinforcing the top management of its sales department with the appointments of Sylvain Roger as Vice-President of Sales Europe and Guillaume Canard-Duchêne as Vice-President of Sales International Markets, who will contribute to the company’s ambitious five-year advertising revenue growth plan.
Guillaume Canard-Duchêne, VP Sales for International Markets, is a well-known face in Euronews, having established the Singapore sales office six years ago. He now relocates to Dubai to take up his new expanded role. Prior to joining Euronews, Guillaume spent 20 years at Eurosport as Head of Sales for Asia and then Europe.
The arrival of the two sales VPs comes on the heels of a strong commercial year for Euronews: in 2021, overall advertising revenues grew by 45% year-on-year and digital advertising by 72%, exceeding targets for the year.
This enhanced structure strengthens Euronews customer relationship management and strategic support at the highest levels with brands, governments and agencies, with the sales teams now split into two regional hubs: Europe and International Markets. The Europe hub covers the entire European continent as well as North America from three sales offices: London, Paris and Berlin. Meanwhile, the International Markets hub encompasses Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America, with offices in Dubai and Singapore, in addition to team members located in Paris.
Sylvain Roger, VP Sales for Europe, has over 20 years of experience in international media, digital advertising, and sports marketing, including 14 years at CNN International and three years at Eurosport. Passionate about brands and delivering bespoke solutions to key partners globally, Sylvain has a proven track record in developing innovative and long-term partnerships across TV and digital. He joined Euronews on January 17, 2021, and is based in Paris.
Sylvain and Guillaume join an ad sales management team that also includes Niaz Samadizadeh, VP content marketing who leads Euronews’ in-house creative studio Embrace, and Tom Roche, VP Digital commercial strategy. The four VPs report directly to Carolyn Gibson, Euronews Chief Revenue Officer.
