In today’s unpreceded times where people around the world are forced to practice social distancing and stay home, many brands are struggling to stay relevant, creating content that sometimes doesn’t sound very different from the rest.
But Bose has come out with a refreshing film based on a real human insight that puts a positive spin on staying at home, looking at it from a unique perspective.
“From our own experience working from home, we realized that in a funny way we were getting to know our neighbors more than ever. Not by interacting with them, but by hearing their daily routine through walls,” explained the Wunderman team.
It was from this insight that Wunderman Thompson Dubai conceived the idea for their film “Dear Neighbor.”
Normally, hearing your neighbor playing the accordion early in the morning or using their blender all day, would be frustrating. But at times like these, it’s become a reassuring and even welcome sound, knowing that your neighbors are safe as they carry on with their daily routines.
The film uses #StayNoisy as a call to action reminding people to stay home and stay positive as we get through these tough times together.
The production of the film was a challenge as no stock footage was used in its creation. Following OMS regulations, the scenes in the film are a mix of actors in their homes shot from outside; the director’s material from his travels to Sweden, Italy, France, USA and Brazil; and some post-production.
The film was launched on Bose’s global YouTube channel on 14 May 2020
