Advertising faces to look out for at Emirates Airline Festival of Literature

The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature will take place from 1-6 February 2023 at the Intercontinental Dubai Festival City and Mohammed bin Rashid Library.

This year, the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature will host sessions that are relevant to the marketing and advertising industry such as ‘Crazy about #BookTok’ by Annie Arsane Mattar, head of business marketing, TikTok MENA, and a discussion on ‘Getting ahead of the game — lessons in leadership’ by Piyush Pandey, a celebrated advertising guru and chief creative officer worldwide, Ogilvy, Ann Hiatt, a Silicon Valley veteran and speaker and Raja Al Gurg, chairperson of the Easa Saleh Al Gurg Group and board member of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature will also host a candid conversation with Piyush Pandey, who is credited for placing Indian advertising on the world map. This will be an interesting one for advertisers as he plans to share in-depth insights into the future of advertising and how communication technology and the rise of the consumer are shaping the evolution of brand management.

And be sure to catch ‘A formidable legacy‘, a conversation with Ian Fairservice, managing partner and group editor-in chief of Motivate Media Group and vice chairman of Dubai Lynx. In a conversation with Tom Urquhart,  he will discuss his experiences on both sides of the publishing industry including his poetry writing and his studies for a master’s degree in creative writing.

The line-up for 2023 features some of the most prominent speakers from UAE’s cultural and creative sector such as HH Sheikha Latifa bint Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, HE Mohamed Ahmed Al Murr, HE Omar Saif Ghobash, Dr Rafia Ghobash, Maisoon Saqr Al Qasmi, Dr. Habib Al Attar, Dr Raja Al Gurg, Major Ali Al Suwaidi, Ali Al Saloom, Nujoom Al Ghanim and more. It will feature Emirati writers, speakers, creators and emerging talents in a series of sessions, panels and workshops. All sessions are offered in Arabic and English as part of the “Bil Emirati” theme, which is sponsored by Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture). The theme covers the recent developments in the publishing industry, culture and folklore, literature, sustainability, and other topics.
