What’s On is seeking a highly experienced Head of Brand to lead the brand’s strategy across all platforms in two exciting and dynamic markets. We’re looking for a visionary leader and brand custodian that will steer the editorial vision, overaching brand strategy, events, commercial deliverables and audience development. The Head of Brand will develop and execute a robust business strategy, while retaining its editorial vision and brand values. The ideal candidate will be a confident leader, a creative editor, and commercially-minded brand head, with a passion for conceptualising and executing engaging, relevant and forward-thinking content across print, digital and social platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Live and breathe What’s On. The Head of Brand is required to act as a brand custodian, ensuring the brand is top-of-mind for residents and visitors looking for the best ways to experience the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
- Lead the overarching content strategy for What’s On across print and digital content, while adhering to the Motivate Media Group brand values.
- Be a confident, empathetic leader with strong personal skills and an ability to inspire and educate the wider commercial and editorial teams
- Identify and conceptualise opportunities for commercial growth across content and events
- Keep abreast of the evolving media landscape and be pro-active in adjusting content strategy to align accordingly.
- Work with the digital editor and deputy editors to drive audience growth and engagement while maintaining tone-of-voice and adhering to editorial best practices.
Qualifications:
- Graduate in Journalism or related course.
- Background in entertainment or lifestyle journalism.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a senior editorial role.
Skills:
- A driven leader with ability to multi-task.
- Proven track record of delivering immaculate multi-channel content.
- Must meet deadlines and have strong time management skills.
- A coherent understanding of growth drivers in the dynamic editorial landscape.
- Excellent communicator with strong attention to detail.
- Confident and outgoing public speaker able to attend events and represent the brand.
