du launches FIFA World Cup predictions game with brand-new BYD Ti 7 up for grabs

du has launched a multi-channel campaign in partnership with Al-Futtaim BYD, designed to transform the way football fans engage with the UAE telecom brand during the FIFA World Cup 2026 tournament season.

The campaign combines a gamified match prediction experience exclusively on the du App along with immersive in-store VR activations at selected du retail locations across the UAE.

The campaign is also running across the brand’s social and digital channels.

Predict and win: Participants can download or open the du App, choose a username, and begin making their picks ahead of each football matches. Every correct prediction earns points, with players climbing a live leaderboard for a shot at an impressive prize pool throughout the tournament.

The challenge runs across all stages of the world football competition, with four winners at each stage taking home a brand-new smartphone.

One lucky overall winner will be crowned at the end of the tournament and will drive away with the grand prize, a BYD Ti 7 car.

To be in the running for the grand prize, participants must submit their prediction for the football finals during the dedicated prediction window, which will open on 4 July and close on 13 July 2026.

For all other matches, picks must be locked in at least two hours before the first match of each match day. Players can track all previous scores and results via the app, and monitor their standing on both stage-specific and overall leader-boards.

All prizes will be distributed in August, when the grand prize winner will be officially announced.

VR score and win experience

As part of the campaign, the brand is also bringing the excitement directly to fans through live VR activations at selected du stores across the UAE.

Powered by cutting-edge VR technology, the in-store experience invites football fans to step into a fully immersive virtual arena and take their shot at glory.

Fans begin by registering at the du store to secure their spot in the queue.

Once it’s their turn, they step up and use VR technology to take penalty kicks in a virtual football match setting, and winners will walk away with exclusive themed prizes.
