Parkin rolls out ‘Spots for Shops’ campaign to support small businesses in Dubai

The Parkin campaign came to life in partnership with creative agency FP7 McCANN MENAT, media agency Magna MENA, PR agency Burson, social media agency Netizency and production by No Garlic No Onions.

Parkin, a provider of paid public parking facilities and services in Dubai, has revealed the strategy and rollout behind its launch of ‘Spots for Shops’: a community-driven initiative that enables drivers to validate their Parkin parking fees simply by supporting small businesses in neighbourhoods across Dubai.

The initiative supports small businesses, which have Parkin-managed parking nearby. Customers can offset their parking fees by qualifying purchases at participating shops and validating it on the Parkin app, which then credits the value directly to their Parkin wallet.

The idea behind the supporting campaign – brought to life by creative agency FP7 McCANN MENAT, media agency Magna Global MENA, PR agency Burson, social media agency Netizency and production house No Garlic No Onions – was to transform routine parking into a practical incentive to stop, discover and support the hidden gems tucked between the city’s better-known destinations.

Parkin

Through this initiative, Parkin also aims to address one of the most common barriers faced by small businesses in high-demand urban areas: convenient and affordable parking.

Commenting on the initiative, Osama AlSafi, Chief Operating Officer, Parkin, said, “Small businesses play a vital role in Dubai’s economic landscape, and ‘Spots for Shops’ reflects how Parkin is reimagining parking as an enabler of urban mobility and local commerce. By seamlessly connecting parking with everyday retail experiences, we are making it easier for customers to access neighbourhood destinations while supporting local businesses and strengthening the wider ecosystem that drives the city’s growth.”

Rollout of the Parkin campaign

15 companies will be included in the first wave of participating businesses under ‘Spots for Shops’ pilot phase, with the redemption of parking to go live on the Parkin app in early May 2026.

The supporting campaign to increase awareness about the initiative is being launched across YouTube, Meta, Tiktok, radio and geotargeted ads on the Parkin app.

Through this initiative, Parkin is also offering a digital-powered platform that enables small businesses to drive customer footfall by providing parking validation and cashback incentives to their customers through the Parkin wallet.

Parkin

Parkin currently manages 250,000 spaces across Dubai, and its aim is to have an ongoing campaign where the brand can have more businesses join and be able to spotlight and support SMEs long-term.

Participating outlets will be responsible for delivering the cashback benefits directly to their customers and benefit from increased visibility and improved convenience, while residents and visitors gain easier access to neighbourhood destinations across the city.

The initiative aligns with Parkin’s broader commitment to community engagement and innovation, leveraging technology to unlock access to otherwise limited parking while strengthening the local business ecosystem.

The brand will also collaborating with five Dubai based influencers to drive customer awareness of the campaign.

The success of the campaign will be measured based on the number of businesses who sign up and demonstrate interest; number of validations completed on the app; as well as reach, impressions, share of voice, and media and PR effectiveness.

The selection of ‘Spots for Shops’ reflects the diversity and spirit of Dubai’s small business community.
