Warner Bros. Discovery and Evision expand MENA partnership with new channels

Warner Bros. Discovery and evision are extending their partnership, aiming to expand content offerings across the MENA region. This collaboration between Warner Bros. Discovery and evision, the media arm of global technology group e&, will bring new channels and content options to viewers, enhancing the existing lineup.

Under this extended partnership, Warner Bros. Discovery will offer seven additional channels in the UAE, including well-known titles like Fatafeat, Discovery Channel, TLC, HGTV, Food Network, Investigation Discovery (ID), and Discovery Family. This expansion will add programming across genres, featuring shows such as Escape Kitchen, Gold Rush, 1000 lb Sisters, and The Scariest House in America, all provided at no additional cost to evision customers. In addition to these traditional channels, viewers will still have access to current favourites like CNN International HD, Cartoon Network HD, CN Arabic, CN Hindi, and Cartoonito.

Olivier Bramly, CEO of evision, said, “We are excited to enhance our partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery, setting new standards in the entertainment industry and transforming the way premium content is presented and consumed. By leveraging our broad distribution capabilities alongside Warner Bros. Discovery’s outstanding content, we are eager to introduce these top-tier channels to a broader audience. This partnership underscores our mutual commitment to providing unparalleled entertainment experiences and catering to the diverse tastes of viewers in the MENA region.”

The extended collaboration will also see the launch of two new Free Ad-supported Streaming TV (FAST) channels on evision’s STARZ ON platform. CNN Fast, launched on 2 November 2024, offers a curated mix of short-form news, business, entertainment, and sports content, marking the channel’s first appearance on Connected TV (CTV) in the MENA region. A kids’ FAST channel, expected in 2025, will showcase children’s favourites from Warner Bros. Discovery’s kids’ content library, offering round-the-clock entertainment for younger audiences and further broadening the brand’s family-friendly content.

Francesco Perta, Vice President, Business Development and Distribution for Middle East, North Africa, and Turkey at Warner Bros. Discovery, commented, “We are excited to extend our partnership with evision and expand our channel offerings. This collaboration not only strengthens our commitment to delivering diverse and engaging content but also ensures that our viewers have access to the latest in entertainment, news, and lifestyle programming. The introduction of new channels and the launch of CNN Fast and Warner Bros Discovery Kids Fast channels exemplify our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our audiences.”

Sunil K. Joy, Head of Content at evision, added, “These are exciting times for STARZ ON as we unveil the latest expansion of our offerings, with the introduction of more Free and Ad-Supported TV channels. This carefully curated content is tailored to meet the evolving tastes of our viewers in the MENA region and to engage them with exceptional content.”

The collaboration between Warner Bros. Discovery and evision aims to deliver diverse, quality entertainment to audiences in MENA, reflecting both companies’ commitment to evolving viewer preferences and providing accessible content across various interests and demographics.
