The Luxury Closet taps chief brand officer from New York

Dubai–based The Luxury Closet has appointed luxury marketer, Maya Azzi as chief brand officer.

Kunal Kapoor, CEO and founder of The Luxury Closet, said, “This strategic newly-created role is very important for the next stage of our growth. Maya’s exceptional branding and marketing experience at prestigious businesses like L’Oréal and the Natural Diamond Council will be key in building an aspirational brand that fashion consumers from all around the world will love.”

Azzi’s track record of success is a stellar one. It includes the launch of two global advertising campaigns for the Natural Diamond Council with actress Ana de Armas, consisting of large-scale productions filmed in Portugal and Spain. These campaigns reinvigorated the image of natural diamonds and connected with a new generation of digital consumers that lead to record-breaking industry sales. Maya also worked with Maison Assouline to launch in 2021 a modern coffee table book Diamonds with a foreword by Edward Enninful.

Maya Azzi’s well-established career is illuminated by numerous awards and recognition. In 2019, Advertising Week New York granted Azzi its prestigious “Future is Female” award. She also received ‘The 2019 Canadians in New York’ honor from the Canadian Consulate General of New York. Ms. Azzi was also part of the first-ever CMO mentorship cohort created by AdWeek, where she was paired with global chief marketing officers from top enterprises in the USA.
