Tarek Nour Advertising and Magdi Yacoub Foundation create The Lonesome Traveller film

Lonesome Traveller was created by Tarek Nour Advertising and helmed by El Zayat through Kay Oh Productions.

A musical tribute that follows a twelve-year-old child on his difficult journey to undergo heart surgery a thousand kilometres away from home. Though accompanied by his parents, this is a journey he must take alone in spirit. Leaving behind friends who love him, as they bid him goodbye with a modern rendition of the Egyptian classic “Ya Mesafer Wahdak” (translation: lonesome traveller) by legendary composer Mohamed Abd el Wahab. Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation previously operated with one hospital in Egypt, located in Aswan; a city deep in southern Egypt. This means that most patients must endure a long and burdensome journey. Especially, for patients who must travel from the northern regions of Egypt such as Alexandria (which is the case in our film), as they must shift between multiple modes of transportation. The agonies of travelling to cure a heart are almost over, hearts will soon be saved in Cairo too.
