Saudi Arabia launches comms academy to enhance advertising sector

Saudi Minister of Information Salman bin Youssef Al-Dosari has launched a new set of five media initiatives designed to foster talent within the industry, including a new comms academy to enhance advertising sector.

More than 200 experts, specialists and officials in the communications and media sector from all over the Kingdom attended the meeting.

This aims to strengthen the partnership between the ministry’s system and partners from the government and private sectors in the field of media.

The new projects include a Communication Academy dedicated to enhancing the advertising sector within the Kingdom.

The ‘Tawasul+’ is the second project, which is part of the Saudi digital content programme titled ‘Ignite Initiative, and it seeks to provide training opportunities in the field of digital content creation.

‘Media Leadership Training’, the third project, aims to qualify a new generation of media leaders and empower them to be able to lead local and Arab media institutions, and enhance their leadership skills and executive methods.

Other initiatives

The meeting also witnessed the launch of the ‘Media Zone’ project, which will provide a joint work environment for practicing various media arts and to provide media knowledge and skills in diverse and modern methods.

The minister announced the launch of a new joint work environment for practicing various media arts, and the “Speakers+” project to develop leaders in government agencies and the private sector.

Al-Dosari explained that the meeting is a result of the ministry’s commitment to developing partnerships with government and private sector organisations to achieve the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

He stated that the focus of the partnership is on encouraging engagement in the digital content industry sector while reinforcing and localising professions within the media sector.

The meeting also included an exhibition of some prominent media projects, such as the Saudi Treasures Initiative, and the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Government Communication Centre at the Ministry of Information and the Human Resources Development Fund HADAF.
