Rain appoints new hires for strategy and account management team

Dubai independent agency, Rain, has new people joining its strategy and account management team.

Rain welcomes Ramy Lewis, who joins the planning team from Nielsen UAE, where he was doing Market Sizing, Usage & Attitude and Concept Tests for telecom clients across the region. Prior to Nielsen UAE, Lewis was working with British American Tobacco and Mortimer Harvey, both in Cairo. While not at work, Lewis plays for the Dubai Tigers in the UAE Premiership and Division 1. Earlier he used to play for the Egypt Rugby 7s National Team.

Ramy Lewis says “In my previous role my job ended with giving the client my recommendation. What excited me the most about joining Rain is getting the opportunity to not just recommend but bring the recommendation to life”.

Kavita Ramrakhiani, Ramy’s manager, says: “In the planning team at Rain, we welcome people who are two things: inquisitive and like to think. It doesn’t matter where they come from. Ramy coming in is putting that belief into action. With very little planning exposure, but a lot more data mining experience, his desire to think from the lens of people, and not just numbers, makes him perfect for us”.

Rain is also welcoming Vidhi Gupta, that is joining the account management team from Lowe Lintas India, where she was managing brands like Pepsodent and Close Up (Unilever), and Hershey’s. Gupta is an ardent believer in Ayurveda and also follows a daily yoga regimen. The weekends are reserved and dedicated to Gupta’s side passion, Bollywood dance.

Vidhi Gupta says: “It is a big change for me! The people, brands, culture, everything is new. But I’m glad for the opportunity that I have got at Rain. It feels like a fresh start to my career and life and I’m looking forward to an exciting time with Rain”.
Samir Shanbhag, Vidhi’s manager, says: “Perseverance and persistence are important qualities. Vidhi connected with me more than 18 months ago and kept in touch even though we had no opening on the team. And when we needed someone with experience in managing multinational FMCG brands, she became an automatic choice because I knew her well now”
