The Public Relations and Communications Association MENA announces the incorporation of Khaled AlShehhi to its board as the executive director of digital communication at the UAE Government Media Office – UAE Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the marketing director at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives.

The Public Relations and Communications Association MENA is proud to announce the incorporation of Khaled AlShehhi to its board. He is currently the executive director of digital communication at the UAE Government Media Office – UAE Ministry of Cabinet Affairs and the marketing director at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives.

AlShehhi has managed the development and execution of the communication strategies of numerous nation-building projects, including the Emirates Nation Brand – Impossible Is Possible, The Emirates Mars Mission probe launch and Mars Orbit Insertion, The World’s Tallest Donation Box, and The Well of Hope. He also managed the digital campaigns of the 2017 ‘Year of Giving,’ the 2016 ‘Year of Reading,’ as well as the ‘World’s Government Summit’ in 2016 and 2017, among other national projects.

Ahmad Itani, chairperson of PRCA MENA, said: “It is with utmost pride that we welcome Khaled as a board member to help us pave the path towards the future of regional communication. His robust experience will be instrumental to our progress, with tenures that have him oversee strategic plans for various government initiatives and projects. I look forward to working alongside him to envision the future of the communication industry from a national and regional perspective.”

Khaled AlShehhi was featured in Arab Business’ 2021 Arab Power List, and, in 2020, he was named ‘Digital Professional of the Year’ by PRCA MENA and ‘Marketing Game Changer’ by Campaign Middle East. AlShehhi’s mission is to strengthen the UAE’s reputation as an incubator for pioneering developmental, humanitarian, cultural and knowledge projects by transforming and humanising G2C communication.

AlShehhi commented: “It is a great honour to have been invited to join the PRCA MENA board, a mission to which I intend to contribute actively. As a marketing communication practitioner as well as a UAE government official, I believe I am uniquely placed to contribute to the development of our industry. From this privileged vantage point, I intend to provide insights and guidance to the association on the way forward for the benefits of its members and the industry at large. These are transformative times, and, as I have already experienced with our own government communication initiatives, the challenges are as exciting as the opportunities. I look forward to working with the board of directors and PRCA MENA members to nurture a vibrant sector that fosters innovation, collaboration and performance.”

The PRCA MENA PR and Communications Board provides a formal mechanism to consult the industry’s most senior practitioners on relevant matters of concern. The board also represents a think tank for the industry by highlighting PRCA’s strategic priorities and producing helpful commentary, advice and best-practice guidance for PR and communication professionals.
