The French star, who famously won the 2013 Wimbledon title without dropping a set the entire tournament, will bring insights and experience from operating at the highest level of professional sport. She will support LMA’s ambitious business development plans, playing a pivotal role in forging new partnerships and working on behalf of rights holders such as the Australian Open and other prestigious properties.

“I am excited to be joining a team of outstanding sports marketing leaders,” said Bartoli, who had a career-high ranking of No 7 in the world. “The calibre of the LMA team is second to none with deep expertise spanning almost every sport and corner of the globe. I look forward to sharing my experience and further strengthening the world-class service that LMA offers.”

LMA, a collective of former Fortune 500 CMOs and marketing experts, was established with the goal to offer easy access to senior-level strategic counsel, serving clients looking for a trusted partner to maximize past and future investments, and drive awareness and engagement.

“Marion is a tremendous addition to our team,” said LMA Senior Advisor, Priya Narang. “As a highly successful professional athlete, with relationships built over many years on the tennis circuit, she not only brings a different perspective, but also a network and profile that can be leveraged to the benefit of our clients.”

Bartoli, who won eight Women’s Tennis Association singles and three doubles titles, will be based in Dubai.

LMA Middle East co-Founder Roger Duthie said: “It is incredible to have someone of Marion’s standing in sport join our team. “LMA launched during the early stages of the pandemic when it became clear there was a need for a lean and senior-level consultancy. Marion joining is testament to how far we have come in a short space of time. As we look to continue our growth in 2021, Marion will be a tremendous asset in supporting our clients navigate the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.”

LMA’s ability to service clients, from major brands, leagues and clubs has enabled it to quickly establish itself as an international force, with presence in Australia, France, India, the United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States and Qatar.
