Career highlights

I have lived in UAE 11.5 years. After finishing school in the UAE I went back to the U.K. to study International Business.

During my third year placement (2019 – 2020), I came back out to Abu Dhabi and started my internship at Digitalfarm. During my placement, the world went into lockdown due to COVID, and many of my peers were let go, however, I was lucky enough to be kept on as an integral part of the team. During my internship, I lead the agency’s CSR initiative (plasticfree.uae) in promoting sustainability and eco-consciousness (particularly the use of single-use plastics) and attending/organising events.

My final year was completed remotely where I was a full-time student and worked part-time for Digitalfarm. I graduated with a BSc Honours (1:1)

After finishing my degree, Digitalfarm took me on as a full-time Operations Executive (I have since progressed again to an Operations and Human Resources Manager).

After a promotion into HR, Digitalfarm funded a Mental Health First Aid course that I underwent and obtained and became a certified Adult Crisis Support person.

During my time I have introduced and implemented the majority of the processes, procedures, and software used in the company, and facilitated the company’s employee growth.

Guiding principles

Sustainability. The sustainability of ourselves and our planet; considering the long-term impacts of our decisions on society, the environment, and the economy.

Diversity and Inclusion. Making a conscious effort to value and celebrate differences in culture, background, and perspectives. Working in an agency with such a vast range of people for various different cultures and backgrounds, the understanding of cross-cultural communication (something I was exposed to growing up and then introduced to as a literary aspect again in university) is imperative for curating and nurturing a safe, inclusive and sustainable work environment.

Safety. Prioritising the well-being and protection of people. This has been aided by my updated knowledge of mental health.

Respect. This is something that goes without saying; treating others with dignity, empathy, and kindness.

Accountability. Taking ownership of your actions and accepting responsibility for their consequences, whatever they may be.
