PHD creates new data role after OMG restructure

David Barnes

PHD has appointed its first associate director of digital data following Omnicom Media Group MENA’s recent integration of its specialist agencies.

David Barnes, former data director at MEC London, has been appointed to lead PHD’s Technology Solutions, consulting clients on data strategies and developing the agency’s programmatic offerings.

His appointment follows the restructure of OMG digital specialists Resolution, Annalect, Accuen and Fuse into the lead agencies OMD and PHD.

The network recently rolled out the ‘under one roof’ strategy in response to advertisers’ demand for integrated services.

Dimitri Metaxas, former managing director of Resolution, will oversee the integrated agencies as group executive director, while Barnes will report to Ben Samuel, the newly appointed marketing technology director at PHD Worldwide.

Barnes said: “Ultimately, PHD has to be as skilled in consulting on our clients’ technology needs as we are
at managing their media investments.”

Elda Choucair, managing director of PHD UAE, added: “In this new role, David will elevate the data agenda for our clients now and deliver the comprehensive knowledge and education they need to benefit from the full potential of marketing technology platforms.”
