Y&R Dubai has been named both agency and network of the year at the Dubai Lynx.
The agency, whose tally of awards included the grand prix in both print and design (pictured), pipped FP7/BAH to the title, although the Bahrain ad agency was interestingly named media agency of the year on the back of its work for Batelco.
The film grand prix went to Elephant Cairo for its ‘Prisoners’ campaign for Harvest Foods’ Bawadi Halva, while Elephant and Advantage Marketing & Advertising also picked up the grand prix in film craft thanks to its ‘Never Say No to Panda’ work for Arab Dairy.
Leo Burnett Beirut won grands prix in media and integrated courtesy of its ‘Keep Walking Lebanon’ campaign for Johnnie Walker, while the promo and activation grand prix went to FP7/BAH for Batelco’s ‘Supersonic’. No grands prix were awarded in outdoor, radio, print/outdoor craft, interactive and direct, making it one of the worst years on record for the handing out of the top award.
In total, 22 golds, 58 silvers and 92 bronzes were dished out at last night’s ceremony at the Madinat Jumeirah, which was attended by 1,400 people. Leo Burnett Cairo’s ‘The Bitter Truth’ won two golds, while Memac Ogilvy Dubai also picked up two. Its sister agency in Tunisia, Memac Ogilvy Label, took home three. TBWA\Raad walked away with three golds, including one in direct for its ‘Accidental test drive’ work for Nissan.

Congratulations to Nadine, Matt Collier and Shahir Zag. Well deserved. The foundations are laid, like Alice in Wonderland, where to next…..
