Augustus Misr has appointed Shady Mazhar as its managing director.
Augustus Misr was launched in 2021 and serves as the Egypt arm of Augustus Media.
In his new role, Mazhar will oversee and manage assets for Lovin Cairo and Smashi TV. He will be responsible for company’s strategy and growth.
Mazhar comes with over 15 years of experience in broadcasting, music events, and business development in Egypt’s media industry. He started his career as a studio and broadcasting engineer in Nile Radio Production in 2006 and went on to manage Egypt’s FM radio stations such as RadioMasr, MegaFM, Hits, NaghamFM and El-Radio9090. In 2014, Mazhar founded ‘The Music Tent’, a music venue in New Cairo that hosted artists such as Omar Khairat, Mashrou Leila, Cairokee, Sharmoofers, Ghalia Ben-Ali and many others. He also worked with Video on Demand (VOD) platform WATCH iT!, and with Tazkarti.
