
Saudi Arabia has officially launched its Ahlan Asia campaign for the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 across digital platforms, introducing the tournament’s official slogan ahead of the competition in Jan 2027.
Brought to life in collaboration with Purple Brain, the campaign frames “Ahlan Asia” as a cultural invitation rooted in hospitality, unity and shared experiences through football.
The campaign aims to establish the emotional tone of the tournament from the outset. The main slogan was designed to be recognised, repeated and emotionally connect across different cultures, languages and audiences throughout Asia.
The main concept of the campaign centres on the repeated use of the word “Ahlan”, a commonly used in Arabic as a greeting of welcome across different contexts and interactions. Through this it turns the phrase from a simple word into something that translates into recognisable and shared behaviour.
The Purple Brain team shared that the challenge was not only to build awareness around the tournament, but also to define what “Ahlan Asia” stands for ahead of the competition.
The campaign was created with the intention of creating emotional familiarity with the phrase by embedding it into moments of connection between fans, players and communities.
The launch film draws heavily on the energy and emotion of football fandom, featuring packed stadiums, waving flags, roaring crowds and moments of anticipation before the kick-off.
The film’s narrative focuses on football’s ability to bring people together, showcasing how the tournament will act as a beginning and meeting point for cultures and supporters who will come together through a shared passion for the game whether its in person or through their phone screens as they watch the tournament.
By centring the campaign around welcome and belonging, the creative approach aims to position the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 as both a major sporting event and a wider cultural moment for the region.
